The extensive activities we carried out at home and abroad not only promote the international recognition of therapeutic effect of HIFU, but also establish a leading place in the global market of ultrasound medicine.
1.In 2005, the “focused ultrasound therapeutic technology" is highly commended by the ACOG, the international authority on obstetrics and gynecology, “A treatment know as focused ultrasound appears effective in helping women who suffer from vulvar dystrophy, according to a new study in the November issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The novel treatment approach proved effective in curing and improving the symptoms of vulvar dystrophy in nearly 95% of the women studied.”
2.October, 2005, the International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU5) invited us to join the meeting organized by Harvard University. Around 10 percent of the papers presented on the symposium were from our center, including 12 oral presentations.
3.Auguest 2006, International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU6) invited us to join the meeting organized by Oxford University. We have presented 19 papers on this meeting, which accounted for around 11% of the papers presented on the meeting
4.June, 2006, First World Congress of Interventional Oncology (WCIO) was held in Como, Italy. Six experts from our center and our partner, Oxford University delivered speeches, covering the HIFU applications in liver cancer, bone tumor, breast cancer, etc, which received great interest from the attendees.
5.June 2007, 2007 International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU7) invited us to join the meeting held in Seoul in South Korea. Almost 18% of papers presented on the symposium were from our center, which accounted for 55.6% of the papers from China.
6.June 2007, Mr Torsten.N.Wiesel, the Nobel Prize winner in physiology & medicine and the former president of Rockefeller University visited our center and was deeply impressed by our high-intensity focused ultrasound tumor therapeutic system
7.2007, Prof Zhi-Biao Wang as a member of jury was invited to attend the ceremony of European Year Award for Best Invention.
Prof Wang had a group photo with vice chairman of European Commission, president of European Patent Office and the non-European investors Joseph Vacca team.

8.December, 2006, a national seminar was held in our center. This seminar regarding the surgical development is meant to discuss the key project, “Hot issues in Medical Device and Demand for Medical device”, of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan of China. Renowned surgical experts and clinicians from many well-known hospitals, such as Southwest Hospital, Daping Hospitals, Xinqiao Hospital, First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, etc, had attended the Seminar. They had a productive and profound discussion on the topics, such as “ how to inherit the clinical experience of the older generation under current situation of medicine development”, " what problems still exist in current general surgery”, " predict the future development trend of surgery “.
9.December, 2007, "National Symposium on Progress in diagnosis and treatment of Vulvovaginal Disease " sponsored by Chinese Medical Association was held in Chongqing. More than 80 gynecological experts from all parts of the country participated in the symposium and had extensive communications on the diagnosis and treatment of vulvovaginal diseases. A satellite symposium, "2007 Clinical Application of HIFU technology in Gynecology Seminar" was held in our center. More than 50 experts acknowledged the efficacy of HIFU in treatment of vulvar dystrophy, cervicitis and other gynecological diseases. They also have extensive discussion on some problems of clinical application.
10.April( 24-25, )2008, Ultrasound Therapeutic Technology and Equipment Seminar sponsored by China Medical Equipment Association was held in our center. Former Vice-minister of the Ministry of Health and chairman of China Medical Association Mr. Zhu Qingsheng, Academician Yu Mengsu, director of Chongqing Health Bureau Mr. Qu Qian and officers of Chongqing Food and Drug Administration attended this Seminar. Chief Secretary of China Medical Equipment Association presided at the conference. Attendees had animated and extensive discussion on the development of ultrasound therapeutic technology and equipment in China. |
