March, 2007, Mr. Tung Chee-hwa , the Vice-Chairman of CPPCC National Committee and first Chief Executive of Hong Kong, in the company of Chongqing Party Secretary Wang Yang, Vice Mayor Tong Xiaoping, visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. During the visit, Prof Wang Zhibiao gave Tung a detailed introduction about our pipe line, our operating system which integrated education, research and industry as well as the mechanisms of ultrasound ablation. When he heard that our focused ultrasound tumor therapeutic system had a completely independent intellectual property rights and had been exported to many developed countries such as United Kingdom, Japan, France and Spain, he complimented: “wonderful! You changed the history of our country, changed the world look at our vision"!
April, 2007, Deputy Director of State Food and Drug Administration Zhang Jingli accompanied by Director of Chongqing Food and Drug Administration Xia Yongpeng inspected National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine and Haifu Company. Director Zhang expressed his acknowledgement to our outstanding achievements in the field of non-invasive ultrasound treatment, and said: “the team led by Professor Wang did a good job in research of non-invasive ultrasound treatment. The purpose of my visit is to find what specific difficulties you facing and know what helps you need. You have developed a diverse product pipe line. You have cutting-edge technology which can free the patients from pain effectively. You should further promote your products to the market and benefit more patients.” He encouraged our team to promote our research continually and promised State Food and Drug Administration would give us full support.
May, 2007, academicians from Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Science in the company of Zhou Xu, Director of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. After looked around the Center, academicians spoke highly of our contributions to the development of national medical device and expressed their hope to collaboration with have National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine in the fields of physics, imaging, ultra – acoustics etc.
June, 2008, the Urban and rural planning investigation group of the State Council led by deputy director of State Development and Reform Commission Du Ying accompanied by Executive Vice Mayor Huang Qifan and Vice Mayor Tong Xiaoping, visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. After hearing the report from Prof. Wang Zhibiao, Director Du expressed his certainty to our work and hoped our quest continued for new technology in the field of ultrasound medicine.
July, 2008, vice chairman of NPC Standing Committee, CAS President Lu Yongxiang in the company of Wang Honghu, deputy director of Chongqing N P C, visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine.Prof. Wang gave Lu a detailed introduction and had a communication on some issues of science and technology. Lu expressed his certainty on HIFU technology and said:” your technology is good! We can’t get rid of the interference from the foreign medical device giants unless we have the original independent intellectual property rights. Do your study without any hesitance, we fully support you!”
Sep. 2008, the party and governmental delegation from Dongguan, Guangdong led by Secretary of Party Committee of Dongguan Mr. Liu Zhigeng and Mayor of Dongguan Mr. Li Yuquan visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. The delegation in the company of Dr. Zou Huiling, deputy director of the Center looked around the Center. Dr. Zou gave them a detailed introduction of the mechanisms of ultrasound. The delegation displayed strong interest in her introduction.
Nov, 2008, Minister of Health Academician Chen Zhu with in the company of vice mayor of Chongqing Mr. Xie Xiaojun and Director of Chongqing Health Bureau Mr. Qu Qqian visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. NERCUM team led by Prof. Zhibiao Wang, director of the Center, expressed a warm welcome to Minister Chen. After hearing Professor Wang's report, Minister Chen quite agreed with Prof Wang on the views in his report and he said: "Here we see the hope of innovation in China's medical device. There is a good mechanism in the Center. More than a National Engineering Research Center, it is also a company with close collaboration with universities and hospitals. You have established a complete system integrating education,research and industry. We, medical scientists, should be the main force of innovation in the field of medical device.”
Feb, 2009, Mr. Liu Yanhua, the Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology accompanied by Director of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission Zhou Xu visited National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine. Minister Liu spoke highly of the rapid development of HIFU technology. He particularly concerned about the industrialization and clinical application of ultrasound therapeutic devices. And he highly praised NERCUM, when he was told that the ultrasound therapeutic systems had been exported into 10 developed countries and regions; the indications of our system had expanded into non-neoplastic diseases and nearly one million women received our general survey and treatment in rural area. He encouraged NERCUM to do more ad propaganda campaigns, and promote this technology as soon as possible in order tobenefit more women. He also pointed out that those merits of HIFU therapy such as convenience, fewer complications, less down time are quite suitable for the healthcare in rural area.
